The Great Dillman Vacation, Part II
Vacation week two!! Just a little tired, and one kid with a cold, but still going strong! We ended up visiting a children's museum in Phoenix instead of the Natural History Museum, which was probably more fun for the kids. However, we rode the train into downtown and I forgot my phone in our truck so I have zero pictures. We then visited Goldfield, a real western town from the gold rush days that is still standing today and turned into one of the biggest tourist traps I have ever been to. We got away with seeing the very loud cowboy act, seeing the reptile museum and having ice cream, and then walked away about $60 poorer. Haha.
We then headed to California! Monday we drove mostly, then had order in pizza at our hotel, a phenomenon unknown to our country kids. Tuesday we did Universal Studios. Harry Potter land was pretty cool and we all liked Jurassic World too.
Wednesday we went to the San Diego Zoo. We did a tour bus that took us through the park and learned some really interesting facts about the animals. We then spent the rest of the day wandering and thoroughly wearing ourselves out. The boys have done a lot of map work this week at all the parks, directing us where to go and how to find lunch locations and bathrooms.
Thursday we went to Legoland! All the rides and all the legos! If you ever want to do parks in L.A. or San Diego the L.A. City Go Pass is the way to go! 5 days of 33 different attractions to choose from for less than two days price! Tomorrow we go to Knots Berry Farm and today we decided to stay at our condo and use the pool, walk across the street to the beach, and work on packing since we head home tomorrow after the last park!
We have also done lesson 10 and 11 in All About Spelling, a All About Reading Lesson, pages in our writing book, a page each in our math books, and Avery did his All About Pre Reading. The boys recieved many games for Christmas and we have played many most days of our trip as well. So even tho we are off our normal schedule we are still getting lots of learning in.
Tomorrow is Knots Berry Farm and then qe head home!
Goodbye Sunshine!
