Avery's 2nd portfolio submission.

Avery has completed the following goals by completing pages in his Handwriting Without Tears workbook and new Minecraft Grade 1 workbook. He also answers questions after listening to Story of the World, and has completed the first 8 lessons in 100 Easy Lessons to Reading.
I can complete lessons in 100 Easy Lessons each week, finishing the book by year end.
I can practice writing by completing a page in My Printing Book 3 times a week.
I can write every letter of the alphabet by memory by year end.
I can listen to books read aloud to me and answer questions about the text.
I can articulately describe the context and meaning in a story read to me.
I can represent and solve problems involving addition and subtraction.
I can apply properties of operations of addition and subtraction [e.g., 4+2=2+4, (4+3)+7=4+(3+7), 3-0=3).
I can understand the relationship between addition and subtraction.
I can fluently and accurately add and subtract facts through 10.
I can use strategies to add and subtract within 20 (e.g., counting on, finding groups of 10).
I can figure out what a missing number is in an addition or subtraction problem.
Avery has completed the first two chapters in Real Science Odyssey Chemistry unit and has achieved the following goals:
I can measure, observe, and collect data.
I can explain how scientists use different ways to study the world.
I can explore simple investigations by asking questions.
I can tell you ways to get information (e.g., ask someone, use a book, make observations, conduct simple investigations, watch video).
With guidance, I can plan and conduct an investigation in collaboration with others.
Avery has been playing Minecraft and other computer games and has developed the following skills by observing his brothers and then copying their example on his turn:

I can tell you the parts of a computer (e.g., mouse, keyboard, monitor).
I can use a mouse on the computer.
I can drag and drop items on the screen
Avery has taken 4 lessons on horse riding:
I can learn about horse anatomy, care of animal, animal husbandry, and demonstrate this knowledge through learning to groom my own horse, getting faster at grooming, learning to work with the horse and learn the nature of horses through developing my skills weekly.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Avery has learned the following achievements through having an allowance and chores to complete during the week:
I can compare and contrast the monetary value of items (i.e., some things cost more than others do).
I can identify sources of income (e.g., gifts, borrowing, allowance, work wages, government assistance).
Avery has learned the following skills by watching the presidential debates, reading Duck for President, and discussing how our government is ran:
I can describe the responsibilities of leaders and team members and demonstrate the ability to be both when working to accomplish a common task.
I can apply civic virtues (such as equality, freedom, liberty, respect for individual rights, equity, justice, and deliberation) when participating in various group settings.
