Michael's second portfolio for the school year.
ELA
-I can read every day: Michael reads to himself every day.
-I can read 2,000 minutes by year end: Michael completed 2,000 hours the beginning of January
-I can produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience
-I can plan, revise and edit my writing with the help of peers and adults: We edit his spelling errors after he has written a list or sentence
-I can conduct short research projects that build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic: Michael frequently used his plethora of Minecraft Books for research, including for the list below, to create plans for his world.
-I can write with stamina for short time frames or over a longer period of time depending on my purpose, audience and topic.

-I can use what I know about addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to solve multistep word problems -involving whole numbers.
-I can generalize place value understanding by reading, writing, comparing, and rounding for multi-digit whole numbers.
-I can fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
-I can illustrate and explain how to multiply and divide multi-digit whole numbers using models and equations.
-I can use board games to reinforce concepts and work on memorization
I can learn the properties of metal and what happens when heat and cold are applied at various stages of metalworking.
I can demonstrate this knowledge by learning skills and techniques at class and creating altered metal pieces.
I can show competency of subject material through completion of projects, videos and pictures of myself demonstrating knowledge, and keeping a list of books that are read to me about topics.
ELECTIVES
Michael has completed many art projects, especially with our weekly co-op.
I can complete art projects with my art supplies based on our social studies subjects.
I can complete art projects with nature items or in nature settings.
