Week 16 January 4th-8th: Bumping Back into Place!

Whew, it is hard to get back to normal after a long winter break! The boys and I mostly played our new board games from Christmas, and they did a lot of reading! Michael and Emmet both have over shot their goal of 2,000 minutes! Emmet reads to himself every night before bed and both read almost every day. We plan on setting goals for how many books read for next year!

Our co-op was able to gather on New Years and we played some fun minute to win it games and worked on resolutions and goals for the year. It was pretty awesome to hear their ideas and goals! Monday this week we sat down and finalized and filled out some more goal sheets from the Big Life Journal New Years set. I might need to buy more items from them in the future, all three boys enjoyed their colorful sheets.

One of Avery's gifts was an alphabet game!

Our first day of co-op this week was about squirrels! We read a book about them and then we gathered enough food for one week for a squirrel by running around the yard finding food they like. It was surprising how much food they eat in a week!

Our second day of co-op was on birds again! We made new bird feeders, which is good because our last bird feeders have all been eaten!

The boys love cooking! We made whipped cream from scratch for John's birthday cake and the boys had forgotten how it works. They thought it was awesome! Especially since we have been watching a kids challenge cooking show and the last episode they had had to make whipped cream!

Michael has started weekly blacksmith shop classes and made me this amazing pendant this week!

We got three new baby cows!

Photosynthesis was at the library this week. Fun and educational and gets you thinking about soil health, how sun effects plant growth and more!

We had a slow and easy week, playing more than formal school. We will get serious again next week. ;)
