Week 23 February 22-26: Board Games and Snow!

What a busy week! We got to stay in a rental at Mt Hood this weekend with some of our co-op friends. It was a lot of fun! So much playing in the snow, playing board games, drawing, and friend time!

Michael is enjoying Lego League very much! He worked on coding for his robot, which must follow a specific line, grab onto a component and pull it toward his robot without moving the components base. He is struggling with it, but John helped him one day and I think they came up with some solutions.

We had a birthday at co-op this week! To celebrate the birthday kid chose dragons and we did a day focusing on Chinese New Year. We decorated a dragon puppet head and then each child took a turn parading as the dragon! Other kids played instruments and we had a loud and fun day!

We found Word Pirates at the Goodwill. It is similar to Scrabble, only you have to build your words around obstacles to reach the treasure. The boys enjoyed it!

One of our libraries is open for self browsing again!! We had a ton of fun looking for books again! We went over our book limit, and came home with a 100 books!! We sure did miss our weekly library trips this last year! (they are attempting to jump for joy in this photo, ha ha)

Books we purchased recently to go along with our history! The boys really love this series, it gets into the nitty gritty (and usually gross) parts of history!

Our clay came! They love this spongy plastic clay stuff and build all sorts of fun creations. Emmet has sold several of his made items to Avery this week. haha.

We also read chapters in Story of the world, played our other new game Listography, did LOTS of drawing, weeded Avery's garden to prepare for spring, made plans for the boys to create more raised beds for their own garden spaces, and did our math and writing books. Mostly I spent the week preparing to leave animals for 4 days and packing for us to be somewhere else for 4 days, and then coming home and un-doing it all! :)

Cheers,

The Dillmans
