Week 24 March 1st-5th: Art-tastic!
This week was all about art!! The boys really got their crafting on!
We ordered boxes of this poly-clay that the boys LOVE. They have made SO many creations this past week.
Michael started a sketchbook with many pages of drawings, but my favorite is a five or so paged comic he is still writing!
Michael also randomly started drawing pictures that show depth. He said he saw it in a book once and thought he would try it. He has a few pages of different scenes depicting this concept.
Avery caught the drawing bug and started his own sketch book as well, but all we had were lined paper notebooks left, so we also made a trip to the craft store so he could pick a sketchbook. We also bought some pencils, a huge colored pencil case for easier transportation of pencils, charcoal pencils for sketching, and a notebook for Emmet as well.
With co-op we made a friendship tree one day, each child decorating several leaves. It was a fun project that ALL the kids really got into! Thursday we went to Hagg Lake and played in the water, did a nature scavenger hunt, and celebrated one friends birthday.
Avery is also learning to cook! He makes himself what he calls the "Avery Special" at least once a day, sometimes a few times a day! The boys likes his eggs! It is a good thing our chickens are laying well, our largest count in one day was 64 eggs!!! We are selling most of them.
We read several chapters in Story of the World while the boys built their 3D Puzzles...Michael's was a sailing ship, however he struggled with it a lot that day, Emmet attempted to finish it for him, Michael became upset that Emmet did better than him and he tore it all apart. Not everything is roses and sunshine here!! haha. He has all the pieces but isn't interested in trying again yet.
Michael had Lego League. They are working on programming their individual robots to complete specific tasks. Once they have their programming they will send a copy to the coordinator and she will compile everyone's info and video herself following each child's directions to complete their competition submission. It sounds like a lot of coordinating!!
Our babysitter day all the boys did a lot of reading, and then jumped on the trampoline for almost three solid hours!
Hope you have a great week!
