Avery's 4th Portfolio 2020/2021

Our co-op make a trip to OMSI this week. They have a dinosaur exhibit with animatronic dinosaurs and lots of great info boards with learning oppertunities. We also watched a documentary on Antarctica and how it use to be a beautiful jungle and the exhibitions taken to extract evidence of that and dinosaurs! It was pretty neat! We haven't studied evolution or the shift from Pangea to how our earth is now, so the boys found it super interesting.  

Emmet turned 9 this week!! We wanted a huge birthday party with a certain type of RPG game, which unfortunately is very expensive and not really for his age group. We compromised with D&D paintable figurines (what he wanted most from the other game, Warhammer 40k) and some board games.

Catan was one of the games Emmet got, and we have all LOVED it. We bought an expansion pack last year without realizing we cannot play it without the original. The boys were very happy to learn it and then incorporate the expansion this week.

Our present dinosaurs hatched! 9 baby turkeys and counting this week! Mama turkey is doing great and all the babies are so cute!

 The boys played a lot of chess this week and played Dog Crimes, and Pandemic. We did not do much work book activities,  but the boys journaled about our trip to OMSI and read so much this week! It was our first week of CSA and I was quite busy and distracted!
