Week 31 April 3-7th: Board Games and Farm Projects!

This week was mostly focused on working hard to get our CSA ready to start! We spent a ton of time outside working on various projects. When we were not planting things, cleaning things, and making our walk in fridge work, we played a lot of board games!

The boys helped out however they could this week too! Michael and Emmet both spent some time putting labels on our boxes for eggs!

We did some card making! It was mothers' day but also my mom's 60th birthday this weekend!

The boys backyard space has big plans. Emmet worked to turn this shipping crate into his own raised garden bed! We just need to get some compost for it now.

Avery helped out by using the leaf blower and helping me clean up our driveway and carport for veggie pick up day!

Peptide!! This is a protein building peptide game! It was fairly easy game concept to follow, you must collect RNA cards in order to build amino acids, which gets you points to win the game. Lots of great words and conepts which would have made total sense to me when I took Anatomy in college, ha ha. I think it will be awesome to keep playing so when/if the boys study deeper into chemistry and biology this will be an earworm for them!

Pizza fractions!! We really like this crazy simple game. Pizza slices in various fractions and several ways to play to learn about how fractions work.

We printed a Big Life Journal kit on Positivity and Connection and have been working our way through the activities. The boys likes these find the feelings word puzzles. We also did a family meeting following their guidelines to prepare everyone for the busy busy month we have with launching the CSA. We also hung a poster of positive self talk on our fridge.

Avery is on lesson 15 of 100 Easy Lessons to Reading. He is doing a great job! It is helping him with letter recognition and letter sounds and he is sounding out small words on his own now.

Michael is trucking right along in his writing book!

Story of the World taught us about the slave trade and attempts to end it around the world. We made model slave ships and discussed how awful life was for slaves.

May the 4th Be With You!! Our Amazing friend and babysitter brought fun Star Wars drawing sheets for Star Wars Day!! We also have been watching back through all the movies and just finished episode 3.

The garden!! 52 beds all planted and growing so many veggies!

Our animals are one of our joys. Meowz is getting so so big!

Another fun game! We played Pandemic from the library this week. It played very similarly to the Forbidden (Sky, Island, etc) games. You must move around the board and eradicate five diseases taking over the world. A little close to home, but fun to knock out pandemics and work out frustrations over Covid restrictions.

Hope you have a fantastic week!
