Week 20 January 31-February 4th: Lungs, Games, and Metalworking

This week we covered quite a bit of curriculum. We read our chapter of story of the world, worked on sewing up lungs for Mr. Skelly, and did our math, writing, and reading almost every day!

Avery here is making a salad after doing a garden walk with me and helping harvest and wash veggies.

We had a board game day with co-op! A local homeschool teenager came and kept the kids busy playing Pokemon cards and running outside, while the adults got to play games together uninterrupted!! It was so much fun. At the end though, Michael was very interested in what we were doing and joined us for the last two games. One was this one below, Tokyo Highway, a really fun game where you stack popsicle sticks on columns. If your popsicle stick road goes over another players road, you get to add a car as a point. Once all your cars are placed you win!

Emmet has started a really fun makerspace class through the Reframe Collective. Caitlin and Blue turned their backyard into a really cool classroom space. They run a full day preschool as well as afternoon and evening classes, and even some adult classes! Emmet's first week they took apart old jewlery and crafted it into something new. He used a clip on earring and a pearl and made what he called a lamp. It really does look like the Pixar lamp as he bends it up and down. He also made a bracelet with a watch glued to it, a mobile, and a  necklace.

We hope you had a great week!
