Week 25 March 7th-12th: Baby Goats and Nature Journals
Happy International Women's Month!! We celebrated by reading a stack of books about women during WWI and WWII. We read the first chapter on WWI in Story of the World this week and it made for a nice tie in.
We got to visit a local goat farm with our co-op. So much baby goat snuggles!!!
Our second day of co-op we visited Leach Botanical Gardens in Portland. It was pretty, small, and we are excited to go back when flowers are blooming! We did some nature journaling. There use to be a bridge to the second half of the property but high waters washed it away this winter. Michael painted a picture of the bridge, Avery drew a picture of the bridge, and Emmet painted a picture of the river.
Danger Noodle! A fun card game where animals have silly names and you flip over cards, scoring points, until you get a negative card or a Danger Noodle, which makes you discard all your cards!
Avery's bridge.
Baby goat pile!
Emmet's beautiful rainbow river!
Baby goat eating Emmet's shirt!
The newest babies couldn't climb out of the box yet, and were so tiny! They had one baby that was only a few hours old!
We had a pipe break in our yard, somewhere where we needed to re-do piping anyways for farm stuff. Michael spent most of the weekend and a few evenings this week helping John dig up, replace, and re-do pipes.
Dungeons and Dragons! If we are not reading or talking about/playing/living Minecraft, we are creating DnD Characters and adventure campaigns.
Most days the older two race to see who can guess Wordle and Nerdle first!
We did math and writing several days this week, Michael attended his DnD group, Avery painted a picture at home also, and we played several card games one day. We finished our read aloud of Harry Potter 2 and watched the second movie.
Hope you enjoyed the last of the March sunshine before the rain came!
