This week we celebrated Mardi Gras with co-op! The mama who organized this day brought all the beading, items to make masks, and some info on Mardi Gras. We learned that during the parades they have "throws" that are little gifts the parade floats throw to the crowd. We used paper cups and the beads to create necklaces, bracelets, rings, and maracas (Michael's idea using the cup with beads inside). Then the group split into two; one half was the audience while the other was the parade. They had musical instruments they clanged, threw their throws, and sang as they marched by. After the teams switched the next group got to be the parade while the first group was the audience. The boys had so much fun!!
Our worms came!! We had another farmer donate this giant worm bin to our farm. The boys got to help place the worms in their new home. 5,000 red crawlers to eat our veggie scraps and make us awesome compost material.
For my birthday I asked all four boys for a fun surprise activity. They took me to Silver Falls and we hiked almost FIVE miles!! Avery had a melt down about half way, but we made it and have now seen all but 1 of the 12 ish water falls there!
One day they got out the perler beads and got busy! Avery and I also worked on his reading lesson on the floor.
Avery brought Dash Robot home from the library again this week. While I was reading Harry Potter out loud Emmet made him glasses, turned a cardboard box into platform 9 3/4 and had Dash crash into it like Harry does in book 2 when the platform wont let him in.
Avery is doing really well with reading! We are 10 or so lessons in and he remembers letter sounds and is reading the stories faster and faster.
We do Wordle almost every day. The boys each try on a different device so we can all guess at the same time and race each other. I had been attempting Octordel, lol, it is hard!

We also worked on our puzzle, played lots of DnD, did writing and math several days, and read many chapters in Harry Potter. We skipped our second day of co-op to catch up on school and rest. We also read a chapter of Story of the World.
