Week 32 May 2nd-6th: Propulsion!
I did not take nearly enough photos this week! We played so many board games, explored outer space some more, hosted a propulsion day for co-op, and then spent three days in Eugene with grandparents.
Our mason bees we emptied from tubes with co-op this winter hatched!! They have filled two tubes in our mason bee house so far this spring!

We spent three days with Grandma and Grandpa! We played Hand and Foot, a favorite card game of their families, and many board games including Sushi Go, Danger Noodle, Chick A Pig, and blackjack! They also took us to watch Sonic 2 at the theater, and the boys played legos for hours and hours with Grandma's lego box!
Propulsion day was so much fun!! We tied string to our deck and then down the hill onto trees. The kids used rubber bands, balloons, and soda and mentos to propel paper air planes and bottle rockets down the string. Not everything worked and there was lots of re-engineering and trying again! But everyone had lots of fun!
Our paper from outer space this week.
Part of visiting grandparents was attending the memorial service for John's grandfather who passed away this winter. They waited for this weekend because he would have been 100 years old today! The boys did really well and had lots of questions about funerals and what they entail....and thought it was quite interesting that they announced at the memorial that it wasn't a funeral, it was a 100 birthday party! Harold was a tinkerer, self taught engineer who created many awesome things. The boys loved going to his house and seeing his latest projects. We will be missed, but also lived a very full and long life, pretty much what anyone could hope for.
We did math and writing books twice this week and read some picture books on outer space. Our second co-op day got a little way-laid when one family realized they were exposed to covid, and another couldn't travel as far as we had originally planned. Instead a few of us went and checked out Defy!, an indoor jump and obstacle course place. The boys LOVED it. We bought a membership so we can go anytime and they have asked daily if it's time to go back!
Hope you week was well,
The Dillman
